Japanese Calligraphy and Nature Drawing Sumi-e
Classes are held every Monday from 10:30am to 12pm and 18:30pm to 20:00pm
Classes are now open for evening classes from 18:30pm to 20:00pm but will be closed on August 25th.
Please note that the morning classes from 10:30am to 12pm will only start as of 8th of September.
Classes are taught in English and it is best to make an appointment

This course is for anyone interested in awareness, Japanese calligraphy, nature drawing "Sumi-e", meditation and art.
What is nature drawing?
Traditionally, Asians paint mountains, trees, flowers and animals with Chinese ink (Sumi-e). Sumi-e ink is the same as calligraphy ink.
How does a class work?
Classes consist of Japanese calligraphy or Sumi-e and meditation.
A class lasts 90 minutes
• 15 min Introduction and preparation
• 10 min Meditation with Asian bell
• 60 min Japanese calligraphy or Sumi-e drawing with Japanese brush
• 5 min Cleaning
Each participant can choose individually to do Japanese calligraphy or Sumi-e drawing.

The price is €30 per class and €275 for a 10-class card. Payment is made in advance or at the beginning of the class at the latest.
Classes are given in English
The materials (brushes, ink and paper) are included in the price.
Aika Furukawa
Born in Aichi, Japan, Aika completed her studies of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts. She has been teaching for 20 years. She exhibits regularly and has received numerous international awards.
